Negative self-talk | littleduckie's Blog

I'm listening to a talk from the DuPage Center in Illinois (a Religious Science church), and the minister who is speaking in this one just said something I wanted to share:

"Would you hang around with someone who talked to you the way you talk to yourself?"

What a great insight!  Seriously.  I think most of us are really hard on ourselves, and I know I "say" some things to myself sometimes that I wouldn't dream of saying to another human being.  I won't even say stuff like that to my dog just on the off-chance he might understand & be hurt by it!

So I'm going to try to keep this in mind from now on, to listen to what I'm saying about myself in my own head and NOT TOLERATE IT from myself any more than I'd tolerate it from someone else.
